About Kasho IIZUKA
飯塚花笑
Kasho IIZUKA, born in Gunma Prefecture in 1990, studied under director Yoshitaro NEGISHI and screenwriter Masato KATO while attending Tohoku University of Art and Design. Drawing on his own experiences as a transgender man, he made his first feature film OUR FUTURE in 2011, for which he was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the PIA Film Festival. He received the Grand Prix as Most Promising Talent at the 2022 Osaka Asian Film Festival for ANGRY SON (2022 / NC ‘22). In 2023, he founded the film production company Studio 6.11, where he also provides workshops for actors.
