After having one too many drinks during his bachelor party, Shunsuke, a young finance executive, falls into a manhole. Injured and only armed with a smartphone, he tries to escape the death trap. About Kazuyoshi KUMAKIRI

Kazuyoshi KUMAKIRI was born in Hokkaido in 1974. He graduated from Osaka University of Arts with his controversial debut feature KICHIKU (1997), which subsequently became an international festival hit and was invited to the Berlin International Film Festival, among others. His following films were shown at prestigious film festivals around the world and have won numerous awards. #MANHOLE (2023 / NC ’23) had its international premiere at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival.
