How will people in the year 2031 remember the disastrous events of March 11, 2011? In 2018, four young workshop participants are collecting eyewitness reports in the town of Rikuzentakata, which had to be rebuilt after the tsunami. The stories are interwoven with a fictional scenario set in the future, providing the foundation for this documentary.

About Haruka KOMORI
小森はるか
Haruka KOMORI, born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1989, studied Intermedia Art at Tokyo University of the Arts. After the Tohoku earthquake, she moved to Rikuzentakata to document the life of the people in the region. Her feature film debut TRACE OF BREATH (2017 / NC ’18) was shown at several film festivals and won the NIPPON VISIONS JURY AWARD 2018. Since 2011, she has been collaborating with painter and writer Natsumi SEO on several video works.

瀬尾夏美
Natsumi SEO, born in Tokyo in 1988, studied Intermedia Art and Painting at Tokyo University of the Arts. Since 2011, the painter and author has been working with filmmaker Haruka KOMORI on various art projects documenting the lives of people in the region around Rikuzentakata after the Tohoku earthquake.
