About Ema Ryan YAMAZAKI
山崎エマ
Born in Kobe to a British father and a Japanese mother, Ema Ryan YAMAZAKI grew up in Osaka and moved to New York at the age of 19 to study at the renowned Tisch School of the Arts. After graduating, she started her career in film as an editor before completing her directorial debut, the feature-length documentary MONKEY BUSINESS: THE ADVENTURES OF CURIOUS GEORGE’S CREATORS in 2017. The film was shown at various film festivals, winning the Audience Award at the Nantucket Film Festival. She has also directed a number of documentaries for NHK and Al Jazeera English.
