After a raid on a gambling parlor, drifter Ipponmatsu and ronin Yaichiro find respite in a coastal village. They soon learn how the residents suffer under a devious and exploitative strongman, who has his debt-ridden victims shipped off to a labor camp. Ipponmatsu suspects Yaichiro to be the son of a villain who murdered his father years ago. Having reason to believe that the local tyrant is this very murderer, he begins to plot his revenge.
