Taiga, a gay man in his mid-30s, makes a living as a masseur and sex worker in Tokyo’s nightlife scene. His ambitions in the porn industry falter when his father falls seriously ill. The impending loss sparks a bitter inheritance dispute with his sister. Anshul CHAUHAN uses intimate, hard-hitting imagery to explore a complex family conflict.

アンシュル・チョウハン

Anshul CHAUHAN was born in India in 1986. After studying art, he began working as an animation artist at Paprikaas Studios in 2006. In 2011, he moved to Tokyo and worked as a CGI animator on projects including the TV series TRON: UPRISING (2012/2013) and the film GANTZ: 0 (2016). In 2016, CHAUHAN co-founded the production company Kowatanda Films with Mina MOTEKI. His directorial debut, BAD POETRY TOKYO (2018), and his second feature film, KONTORA (2019 / NC ’21), won awards at various international film festivals. DECEMBER (2022 / NC ’23) competed at the 2022 Busan International Film Festival.
