About Genki KAWAMURA
川村元気

Genki KAWAMURA, born in Yokohama in 1979, studied journalism at Sophia University and began his film career at Toho. As a producer, he has been responsible for some of the most successful Japanese films in recent years, including YOUR NAME (2016), BELLE (2021 / NC ’22) and the Netflix series THE MAKANAI (2023). In 2012, he published the novel “If Cats Disappeared From The World”, which has been translated into 21 languages. He won the Best Director award at the San Sebastian Film Festival with his feature film directorial debut, A HUNDRED FLOWERS (2022 / NC ’23).
