JVTA Meets PIA Film Festival: Shorts
Nippon Visions ½
In the Global Universities Subtitling Project of the Japan Visualmedia Translation Academy (JVTA), students gather initial experience in film subtitling. We present two PIA Film Festival shorts, which were subtitled by students of the University of Ghent (GOODBYE!) and the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf (VOLTE-FACE).

Fuka NAKATSUKA
Goodbye!
グッバイ!
Young filmmaker Fuka NAKATSUKA lives with her mother in rural Shiga. When she receives a job offer in Tokyo, she decides to film the transition into a new phase of her life. The resulting short documentary is a personal insight into an alienated family and at the same time a testimony to a new beginning in the big city.
