Based on the Fukushima nuclear disaster of March 11, 2011, BOLT conveys the physical and psychological impact of the tragedy affecting Japan to this day. A crew of men is assigned to tighten a bolt inside the nuclear power plant to prevent the leakage of contaminated water. Unbeknownst to them, this disaster will forever change their lives and those of many others.

About Kaizo HAYASHI
林海象
Kaizo HAYASHI, born in Kyoto in 1957, directed his first movie TO SLEEP SO AS TO DREAM in 1986. HAYASHI became known for his Hama Maiku trilogy, consisting of THE MOST TERRIBLE TIME IN MY LIFE (1994), STAIRWAY TO THE DISTANT PAST (1995) and THE TRAP (1996). He was also the creative director for the video game “7 Blades” in 2000. In addition to his work as a director, HAYASHI teaches at the Kyoto University of the Arts and the Tohoku University of Art and Design.
