Hugo SAKAMOTO
阪元裕吾
Hugo SAKAMOTO, born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1996, studied at Kyoto University of Art and Design (currently Kyoto University of the Arts). At the age of 20 he made his directorial debut with BAE (2016). Many of his short and feature-length films, such as HANGMAN’S KNOT (2017) and PAN (2017), were shown and awarded at international film festivals. With his films FAMILY WARS (2018), BABY ASSASSINS (2021 / NC ’23) and BABY ASSASSINS 2 BABIES (2023 / NC ’23), he had his breakthrough at Japanese box offices.
