Even fans of body horror master TSUKAMOTO should be warned: this retelling of WWII veteran Shohei OKA’s novel about the loss of humanity in times of war is an ultraviolent, surrealistic and very physical movie experience about hunger, invincible enemies, tuberculosis and cannibalism.
