Farmer Sakuzo, compellingly portrayed by Tatsuya NAKADAI, lives a simple, idyllic, rural life. But plans for a tourist resort threaten the unspoiled nature and sow discord in the impoverished village. Director Kei KUMAI shot this socially critical environmental drama in the Japanese Alps. The score was composed by Teizo MATSUMURA.
