Working as a reporter for a profit-driven tabloid magazine, Uto examines UFO sightings and alien abductions in the small town of Hakui. There, he meets the mysterious young woman Noa, uncovers the deeds of a radical sect, and his investigations take all kinds of surprising twists. Yoshiki MATSUMOTO’s debut film is a self-ironic and socially relevant sci-fi comedy.

About Yoshiki MATSUMOTO
松本佳樹
Yoshiki MATSUMOTO, born in Tokyo in 1995, discovered his passion for filmmaking back in his school days. After his studies in film at Kobe Design University under Gakuryu ISHII, he founded the production company SETAGAYA SENSEMANS with his friends and worked as a film editor. ALIEN’S DAYDREAM is his feature-length debut and received both the SKIP CITY AWARD for the best new director and the prize for Best Picture in the Japanese feature category at the 2023 SKIP CITY INTERNATIONAL D-Cinema FESTIVAL.
