After three years in prison, MURAKI, a hard-boiled yakuza hitman, returns to the gambling parlors run by his clan. There, he meets Saeko, a mysterious young woman who is always seeking the next thrill. Shot in expressive black-and-white and accompanied by a musical score drawing on avantgarde and jazz, Masahiro SHINODA’s highly stylized film unfolds a grim story about pessimism and self-destruction.
