Loneliness is an epidemic in Japan. This documentary follows two isolated individuals who seek refuge at “A Place For You”, a life-saving volunteer chat service. Danish director Kaspar ASTRUP SCHRÖDER observes the two on their search for healing, casting a sober eye on efforts by the Japanese political sphere to find a solution to this issue.

About Kaspar ASTRUP SCHRÖDER
キャスパー・アストラップ・シュレーダー

Kaspar ASTRUP SCHRÖDER was born in Copenhagen in 1979. He studied at the European Film College and now works as a director, editor, and screenwriter. In 2014, he was one of the founders of the production company Good Company Pictures. His documentaries, including his feature film debut THE INVENTION OF DR. NAKAMATS (2009), as well as RENT A FAMILY INC. (2012), frequently address Japanese themes. His films have been screened at numerous international film festivals and have won various awards.
