Shocked that her widowed father wants to remarry, 16-year-old Oshare decides to spend the summer with her six best friends at her aunt’s house in the countryside. The group is given a warm welcome but must soon realize that the mansion has a sinister life of its own. Will the girls escape the clutches of the house alive? In his feature film debut after numerous experimental films and television commercials, Nobuhiko OBAYASHI employs every special effect in the book to stage a colorful, surreal, and gory horror spectacle that is at the same time imbued with a deep sense of melancholy.
