Tokyo Love

Nippon Digital   ½

Somewhere in Tokyo ... An old woman and a young man meet on the roof top of a high-rise building. The initial rejection of the two, caused by this chance encounter, soon gives way to a cautious curiosity. What is the other doing on the roof? Slowly, the apparently so different people come closer to each other, begin to talk to each other, to circle around each other. When they realize that their tedium of life has driven them both to this place, an almost tender bond develops. They spend some carefree moments on the roof, happy not to have to be alone. The first rays of sunshine gently welcome a friendship that has broken the boundaries of space and time. Silke Wolter shot her short film TOKYO LOVE in Tokyo with Japanese actors and approaches with them sensitively the loneliness above the roofs of the mega-city Tokyo.
