After her husband abandoned her, Kiyoko works as a ceramist, when no woman is allowed to have a kiln of her own. Kiyoko changes not only this tradition: she is also a pioneer in creating the first bone-marrow bank in Japan. Her son, Kenichi, has leukemia, and Kiyoko converts her house into a hospital. Based on a true story.

About Banmei TAKAHASHI
Banmei TAKAHASHI, born in Nara in 1949, began making films at 23 during the student movement period. Between 1976 and 1981, he made over 50 films before founding his own company, Blow-up Inc. in 1984.
