High school junior Saeko, is generally mad about something. Excessively concerned for his daughter, Saeko’s father at one point decides suddenly to become her mother. Then one day, overcoming her father’s resistance, Saeko goes to Tokyo to expose the true nature of mysteriously appearing rockets.

About Yuya ISHII
石井裕也

Yuya ISHII, born in Saitama Prefecture in 1983, graduated from Osaka University of Arts. His graduation film and feature-length debut BARE-ASSED JAPAN (2005) was invited to the International Film Festival Rotterdam. His film SAWAKO DECIDES (2010 / NC ’10) had its world premiere at the Berlinale Forum. He won all important Japanese film awards as best director and received an Oscar nomination for THE GREAT PASSAGE (2013). After several big budget films, he returned to his roots in independent filmmaking with THE TOKYO NIGHT SKY IS ALWAYS THE DENSEST SHADE OF BLUE (2017 / NC ’17).
