Nippon Visions ½
This unique work is an adaptation of a stage play written by director Ryusuke HAMAGUCHI himself. It is a vivid illustration of the emotional entanglements among young people in their twenties, between intimacy, loneliness and their craving for affection. The simplified stage scenery based on darkness, unexpected inclusions of the audience’s looks and the effective use of close-ups and reverse shots add a unique tension to the film.
