Silent Pictures – Tohoku 3/11

On 11 March, 2011, the Tohoku region was hit by one of the most severe earthquakes in Japanese history, causing a tsunami and incredible destruction. In this iPad-installation, we invite you to look into this subject at your own pace. Photographies of the Tohoku Mindscape project present the region prior to its devastation while artist Jiré E. Gözen and film-maker Michael Arias document the drastic consequences.
