In Northern Japan, Fusajiro goes fishing for tuna every day in his small boat. Living with his daughter Tokiko, he is not too fond of her boyfriend, Shunichi. After Shunichi is injured in an accident at sea, father and daughter grow estranged of each other. In this intense drama about lost hopes and broken dreams, SOMAI further developed his own style as a director, combining realism with a poetic touch.
