Workshop: Japanese Sword Dance

The sword dance kenshibudo combines body movement with swords and fans to create an expressive art form that tells the stories of the samurai – precise, elegant, and full of symbolism. Sword dance master Taro NASHIBA will teach you the basics of sword handling and choreography, including techniques such as the quick draw, cross cut, thrust, and the symbolic shaking off of blood. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a belt.
