Video Games From Japan – Society at Play?

Nippon Culture   º

A Panel Discussion Hosted by Goethe University Frankfurt

Since 2022, a student-led initiative at Goethe University Frankfurt has been researching video games from Japan. In three brief presentations, Jasmin POUR FATHIEH, Naja SCHEUNERT, and Mike HOMMEL explore the interplay between this medium and social discourse: from creative influences and clichés in “Silent Hill” and virtual upskirting in “NieR” to “Super Mario” in German school classrooms – moderated by Dr. Christian CHAPPELOW.
