About Shiori ITO
伊藤詩織
Shiori ITO, born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1989, is a journalist, author, and filmmaker. After studying photography in New York, she started working for the media corporation Thomson Reuters in 2015. She is the co-founder of Hanashi Films. In 2017, she published the book BLACK BOX, in which she depicts her rape by an influential journalist. The book served as a basis for her directorial debut BLACK BOX DIARIES (2024 / NC ’25), which was nominated for an Oscar in 2025. In 2020, she was included in Time Magazine’s list of the top 100 most influential people.
