My Anniversaries

Nippon Docs   ¾

Shoji SAKURAI was wrongfully convicted of murder and spent 29 years in prison, where he wrote poems, songs, letters, and diaries to stay sane. Since his release on parole in 1996, he has been fighting for his own acquittal, as well as for others who have been innocently convicted. Director Sungwoong KIM’s documentary portrays his unwavering joy of life, his poetry, and music.
