The movie poster on the bedroom door, the candy wrapper in the refrigerator, or the brand logo on a pair of sneakers – it’s hard to imagine our everyday lives without graphic design. In cinema and television films, such props often have great significance and provide clues to characters or the time and place of the action. In her lecture, typographer Dr. Mariko TAKAGI will shed light on the use and effect of graphic design in Japanese TV dramas.
