Japanese Literature Translation

A Workshop with Ursula Gräfe

Professional translation of literature is an art in itself. Ursula Gräfe will introduce you to the joys, pitfalls and beauties of her profession. Afterwards, you will become active yourself and collectively translate a passage from “Drive My Car” by Haruki MURAKAMI from Japanese into German. Director Ryusuke HAMAGUCHI adapted this short story for his Oscar-winning film of the same title. Advanced Japanese language skills are desired for participation in the workshop.
