Takuma SATO


Takuma SATO was born in Akita in 1989 and studied Economics before discovering his passion for filmmaking. His first feature film, DON'T SAY THAT WORD (2014), was shown at Busan International Film Festival and won multiple awards at PIA Film Festival. Subsequently, he directed several short films, including BEGINNING TO BREAK HEY, HEY, HEY (2016) and STICKS AND STONES (2019). ANY CRYBABIES AROUND? (2020 / NC ‘20) is his second feature-length film and won the Best Cinematography Award in the San Sebastian International Film Festival competition.
