But when he meets melancholic balloon seller Pechka, his world stops revolving around his obsessions and he just wants to make her smile. With unconventional, sketch-like drawings, Wataru TAKAHASHI has created an anime musical full of quirky characters.

About Wataru TAKAHASHI
髙橋渉
Born in 1975, Wataru TAKAHASHI originally wanted to be an editor and studied film at the Japan Institute of the Moving Image. Following a recommendation by one of his professors, he began working for the anime studio Shin-Ei Animation in 1996, where he worked on various films from the CRAYON SHIN-CHAN series, initially as a production assistant and storyboard artist and then as a director, starting with CRAYON SHIN-CHAN: INTENSE BATTLE! ROBO DAD STRIKES BACK (2014). THE OBSESSED (2025 / NC ‘26) is the first feature film he has directed outside of the CRAYON SHIN-CHAN franchise.
