About Wataru HIRANAMI

Wataru HIRANAMI, born in Nagano Prefecture in 1978, learned his craft from Kazuyoshi KUMAKIRI starting in 2003. After graduation, he became heavily involved in Japan's independent filmmaking scene. His film SCHERZO was screened at the PIA Film Festival in 2008, and in 2009 the renowned Image Forum Festival screened his short film WORST DREAM OF THE YEAR#01. Besides his work as a director, he has been organizing the event "EIGA TARO" since 2010.
