In 1969 the University of Kyoto is occupied by students. The conflict culminates in the battle of the Kyoto Tower. Through its intimate observation of political debates and preparation for a possible armed battle the film questions the role of violence. This is the first screening with English subtitles.

About Noriaki TSUCHIMOTO
Noriaki TSUCHIMOTO (1928-2008) studied at Waseda University and joined radical student groups. He is considered one of Japan's most important political documentary filmmakers and was best known for his films about the effects of Minamata disease.
