BLUE CHONG

In BLUE CHONG, which was his graduation project at the Japanese Academy of Moving Images, LEE Sang-il skillfully manages to approach the difficult subject of the Korean minority in Japan through a charming and very involving story about a man between two nationalities. The film won the Grand Prix at PFF 2000. With his follow-ups HULA GIRLS (2007) and VILLAIN (2010) being huge successes, LEE is now considered one of the virtuosos in Japanese cinema.
