About Takashi YAMAZAKI
山崎貴
Takashi YAMAZAKI, born in Nagano Prefecture in 1964, graduated from Asagaya College of Art and Design. His film JUVENILE (2000) was his directorial debut. His film ALWAYS: SUNSET ON THIRD STREET (2005 / NC ’06) won 12 out of 14 categories of the Japan Academy Film Prize. BATTLESHIP YAMATO (2010) and STAND BY ME DORAEMON (2014) were also highly successful at the box office. PARASYTE: PART 1 (2014 / NC ’15) and PARASYTE: PART 2 (2015 / NC ’15) as well as DESTINY: THE TALE OF KAMAKURA (2017 / NC ’18) were screened at Nippon Connection. LUPIN III: THE FIRST (2019 / NC ’21) was awarded the Japan Academy Film Prize as Excellent Animation Work. YAMAZAKI is considered to be one of the leading special effects experts in Japan.
