About Daihachi YOSHIDA
吉田大八

Daihachi YOSHIDA, born in Kagoshima Prefecture in 1963, studied at Waseda University and won numerous prizes for commercial ads. His first theatrical release FUNUKE SHOW SOME LOVE, YOU LOSERS! (2007 / NC ’08) was invited to the Semaine de la Critique at Cannes. In 2012, he received the Japan Academy Film Prize as Best Director and for the Best Film with THE KIRISHIMA THING (2012 / NC ’13). His film PALE MOON (2014 / NC ’15) was also screened at Nippon Connection. TEKI COMETH (2024 / NC ’25) received multiple awards at the 2024 Tokyo International Film Festival.
