In 1961, five people died after drinking poisoned wine. The prime suspect, Masaru OKUNISHI, was sentenced to death based on dubious evidence. Filmmaker Reika KAMATA documents OKUNISHI’s sister’s fight for posthumous exoneration after he died on death row. Narrated by Tatsuya NAKADAI (1932–2025), to whom our retrospective is dedicated.
