As former yakuza Akutsu lies dying in his prison cell, a small plant begins to speak to him. Together with the cynical flower, he looks back on his life between family and the criminal underworld. As in his acclaimed anime series ODDTAXI, director Baku KINOSHITA provides an unexpected view on Japan’s underworld and his protagonist's complex inner life.

About Baku KINOSHITA
木下麦
Baku KINOSHITA was born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1990 and studied at Tama Art University. He worked for the production company P.I.C.S. as an animator and assistant director for advertising spots and music videos. He gained international acclaim for his work as a director and character designer for the anime series ODDTAXI (2021). THE LAST BLOSSOM (2025 / NC ‘26) is his animated feature film debut and competed at the 2025 Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
