Expo ’70 in Osaka is under attack by bizarre monsters from the year 2025. To save the past and future, the Cosmic Battle Guard depends on the giant superhero Taroman. Director Ryo FUJII affectionately brings artist Taro OKAMOTO’s iconic Expo ’70 sculpture “Tower of the Sun” to life in a gaudy trash spectacle brimming with retro special effects.

About Ryo FUJII
藤井亮
Ryo FUJII, born in Aichi Prefecture in 1979, studied visual communication at Musashino Art University. He began his career at Dentsu, where he produced numerous commercials. After several years as a video artist, creative director, and art director, he founded the production company GOSAY Studios. In 2022, he developed the character Taroman for TV and marketed it successfully. This has culminated in the feature film TAROMAN EXPO EXPLOSION (2025 / NC ‘26), which he not only wrote and directed, but he also did the animation and character design.
