Akino is a concierge in a very special department store where the customers are not humans but animals, many of which were thought to be extinct. Akino is tasked with catering to their curious wishes. Yoshimi ITAZU’s charming film is a playful commentary on consumerism and environmental destruction that appeals to audiences both young and old.

About Yoshimi ITAZU
板津匡覧
Yoshimi ITAZU, born in Gifu in 1980, has worked for a various renowned Japanese animation studios, including Gallop, Madhouse, Production I.G, and Ghibli. He gained recognition for his work as a character designer for Keiichi HARA’s MISS HOKUSAI (2015 / NC ’16) and as a key animator on works such as Satoshi KON's PAPRIKA and Hayao MIYAZAKI's THE BOY AND THE HERON (2023). His directorial debut, the award-winning short film PIGTAILS (2015), was screened at Nippon Connection in 2016. His feature-length directorial debut, THE CONCIERGE (2023 / NC ’24), was produced by Production I.G.
