The feud between the kingdoms of Alhamit and Baikari is supposed to be settled by the arranged marriage of princess Sara and the scholar Naranbayar. Yet an evil scheme threatens to prevent the union, forcing the couple to take the matter into their own hands. In her feature debut, anime director Kotono WATANABE presents an imaginative take on the story of Romeo and Juliet.

渡邉こと乃

Kotono WATANABE, born in Gifu Prefecture in 1983, graduated from Aichi University of the Arts in 2007. In the same year, she started working for the renowned Madhouse studio, where she directed the anime series BTOOOM! (2012). GOLD KINGDOM AND WATER KINGDOM (2022 / NC ’23) is her first feature-length anime.
