IN THE SILENCE OF THE WORLD / KYA KA RA BA A (Air, Wind, Fire, Water, Earth in Sanskrit) can be seen as a kind of continuation of EMBRACING. The film begins with the death of the director's father. She deals with her family history by reviewing her career as a filmmaker: The early films about her family, the success of her film SUZAKU in Cannes and her creative blockades. In the second part you can see the filmmaker in a tattoo studio. She wants to get a tattoo on her back like her father had.

河瀬直美
Naomi KAWASE studied at the University of Visual Arts in Osaka. After numerous short films and documentaries, she realized her first feature film MOE NO SUZAKU in 1996, for which she received the Golden Camera in Cannes.
