In a strange town built on hills, Minako runs up and down its steep slopes delivering milk. She is 50 and single. In one of the houses to which she delivers milk lives Keita, with whom she has secretly been in love since high school. Keita lives with his wife Yoko, who is terminally ill. Insisting that he wants nothing more than an »ordinary« existence, his life is one of constant turmoil. Amid all of this his thoughts, too, are on Minako.

About Akira OGATA

While working as an assistant director to Sogo ISHII, Akira OGATA (*1959) made his own independent film, CHINESE CABBAGE MAN (1980), which was selected for the PIA Film Festival. He made his big screen debut with BOY`S CHOIR, which was awarded the Alfred Bauer Prize at the 50th Berlin International Film Festival in 2000.
