Machiko works at a retirement home. She developes empathy with Shigeki who is still grieving for his wife’s death 33 years ago, as she herself is suffering from her son’s death. After Shigeki’s birthday they go for a trip into the country side. When the car slips into a ditch, Shigeki runs off into the forest followed by Machiko.

河瀬直美
Naomi KAWASE studied at the University of Visual Arts in Osaka. After numerous short films and documentaries, she realized her first feature film MOE NO SUZAKU in 1996, for which she received the Golden Camera in Cannes.
