Catherine Munroe Hotes (PhD) explores the diverse influences on the puppet craft and animation of renowned puppet master Kihachiro KAWAMOTO (1925 – 2010) in an interactive presentation featuring rare images and film clips. This lecture will chart his transformation from doll maker to puppet animator and the creation of his masterpiece THE BOOK OF THE DEAD (NC’06).
