アキラ
Nippon Retro ²
AKIRA is set in the Tokyo of the year 2019 (which was still some time in the future when the film was made), depicting a metropolis torn between luxury and decay. Members of a motorcycle gang become involved in secret parapsychological experiments of the military, which awaken enormous destructive powers in one of them. OTOMO adapted his own manga for the film, which conjures up a realistic apocalyptic mood, using all the possibilities of the anime genre.
