Bilingual Reading With Fumiko OHAMA: Short Stories in German and Japanese

Two languages, two cultures: Fumiko OHAMA’s literary voice moves between Japanese and German. Born in Tokyo and living in Frankfurt for many years, she writes texts shaped by her life between two cultures. She received the Izumi Kyoka Prize for Literature in 2022 for “Hidamari no hate”, her collection of novellas. In this bilingual reading, she will read from her short stories and then talk with the audience about her work.
