exf f. Special: Out of Isolation – Feminist Experimental Films
Nippon Visions ½
Women shook up Japan’s male-dominated experimental film scene in the 1980s. Animation artist Yuko ASANO’s films kick off the program, followed by Mari TERASHIMA’s surrealistic, gender-fluid goth aesthetics. To round off, Hiromi SAIKI and Junko WADA explore the experience of gender-based violence. Presented on analog 8 mm and 16 mm film in collaboration with exf f. – tage des experimentellen films frankfurt.
