The COVID-19 pandemic has already had a massive impact on the Japanese film industry. Festivals have been canceled, shootings put on hold, and cinemas temporarily closed. In Japan, there is virtually no state support for filmmakers. In this panel, Japanese film professionals will discuss how the crisis has influenced their work and will try to give a cautious outlook on the future after the pandemic.
