During a mild summer night, a party is winding down at a luxurious mansion in a Tokyo suburb. As Haruko’s elegant white arms draw so much attention, her dispute with the hostess launches an avalanche of jealous provocations. Eventually all masks and inhibitions are dropped. YAMAUCHI presents a vibrant adaptation of his play “Trois Grotesques”, which won the prestigious Kishida Drama Award in 2015.

About Kenji YAMAUCHI
山内ケンジ
Kenji YAMAUCHI, born in Tokyo in 1958, began filming advertisements for the production company Dentsu Creative Pictures in 1983. He has worked as an independent screenwriter for television and short films since 1992 and has additionally been involved in theater since 2004. In 2006, he founded the ensemble Shiroyagi No Kai, with which he has directed numerous plays of his own. He directed his feature film debut BEING MITSUKO in 2011. His films HER FATHER, MY LOVER (2015 / NC ‘16) and AT THE TERRACE (2016 / NC ‘17) have been screened at Nippon Connection.
