Nippon Culture   º

A Lecture By Prof. Dr. Lisette GEBHARDT

Kirino NATSUO paints a dark future for Japan in her novel “Nichibotsu” (2020): People are only allowed to write government-approved texts – whoever disobeys is threatened with permament imprisonment, psychological torture, and an unspeakable fate. In her presentation, Prof. Dr. Lisette GEBHARDT (Japanese Studies, Goethe University Frankfurt) provides a commentary on this radical novel by the first female president of the Japanese P.E.N. Club.
